ISLAMABAD: 01, JANUARY, 2022: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has climbed to 1,295,933 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 556 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.08 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 482,029 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 445,107, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,402, in Balochistan 33,638 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 108,666, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,429 while 34,662 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,933 deaths so far, after six fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,070 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,670 in Sindh, 5,930 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 364 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 967 deaths and AJK recorded 746 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,423,546, corona tests and 51,141 in last 24 hours and 1,256,816 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 467,977 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 429,236 in Punjab, 174,897 in KP, 33,202 in Balochistan, 107,376 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,241 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,887 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 629 patients are in critical condition.
