Pakistan sees decline in coronavirus deaths with 31 fatalities

ISLAMABAD: 04, FEBRUARY, 2021: The number of coronavirus infections has climbed to 550,540 on Thursday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 1,508 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the total count of active cases increased up to 32,889.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 248,919 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 159,311, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 67,803, in Balochistan 18,840 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 41,655, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,912 while 9,100 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 11,833 deaths so far, after 31 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 4,821 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 4,036 in Sindh, 1,931 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 196 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 478 deaths and AJK recorded 269 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 8,085,427 corona tests and 35,460 in last 24 hours and 505,818 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 226,017 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 144,921 in Punjab, 63,234 in KP, 18,536 in Balochistan, 39,871 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4,794 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 8,445 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,971 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
