Pakistan sees significant decline in Covid-19 deaths with 27 fatalities

ISLAMABAD: 04, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has reached 1,251,202 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,490 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.84 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 460,111 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 433,286, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 174,671, in Balochistan 32,981 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,733, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,332 while 34,234 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,893 deaths so far, after 27 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,685 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,427 in Sindh, 5,580 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 349 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 928 deaths and AJK recorded 738 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,590,145, corona tests and 52,415 in last 24 hours and 1,177,249 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 429,988 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 404,553 in Punjab, 164,765 in KP, 32,454 in Balochistan, 102,533 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,986 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,970 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan. (04)
