Pakistan sees significant decline in corona cases, deaths

ISLAMABAD: 26, MARCH, 2022: Coronavirus infections in the country have surged 1,523,590 on Saturday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 189 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.62 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 574,549 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 504,765 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 218,860 in Balochistan 35,468 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 135,016, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,693 while 43,239 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,340 deaths so far while Four deaths recorded today Saturday.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,551 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,094 in Sindh, 6,312 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 378 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,022 deaths and AJK recorded 792 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 27,328,886 corona tests and 30,417 in last 24 hours and 1,485,085 patients have been recovered whereas 451 patients are in critical condition. (04)
