Remembering Urdu poet Jaun Elia on his 19th death anniversary

KARACHI: 08, NOVEMBER, 2021: The 19th death anniversary of famed Urdu poet, philosopher, biographer, and scholar Syed Hussain Jaun Asghar Naqvi, commonly known as Jaun Elia, is being observed today (Monday).
Jaun Elia was born on December 14, 1931 to an illustrious family of Amroha Uttar Pradesh, India.
He introduced a new dimension to Urdu literature with his unique style and soft accent.
Besides Urdu, also had command over English, Arabic and Persian languages.
His first collection of poetry 'Shayad' was published in 1991 which was declared as the preface of Urdu literature.
Jaun was a unique poet of his kind.
He died on November 8, 2002 in Karachi. (04)
