LAHORE: 12, JANUARY, 2022: Renowned singer, actor and poet Inayat Husssain Bhatti is being remembered on his 94th birth anniversary today (Wednesday).
He was born in Gujrat on January 12, 1928. After graduation from Gujrat, Bhatti came to Lahore in December 1948 with the intention to study law.
A few months after his arrival in Lahore, he made his first performance on stage in the YMCA Hall, Lahore, in a play which focused on the freedom struggle of Kashmir.
Later, Inayat Hussain Bhatti came to Radio Pakistan Lahore, where he met and became a formal pupil of Master Niaz Hussain Shami, a composer then working for Radio Pakistan.
He had a distingushed position in the realm of art. He performed several charater, inlcuding Ranjha, Jogi and Waris Shah.
He also worked as a producer, director and script-writer, as well as a social worker in his 50-year-long career.
His most famous works are: Chann Makhna (1968), Sajjan Pyara (1968), Jind Jan (1969), Duniya Matlab Di (1970), Ishq Diwana (1971) and Zulam Da Badla. Inayat even sang some naats and kalaams, worked for PTV and highlighted many social evils through his films."
Inayat Hussain Bhatti passed away on May 31, 1999, succumbing to paralysis attack at the age of 71. (04)
