Road accident in Shikarpur leaves two dead

SHIKARPUR: 08, APRIL, 2021: At least two people lost their lives in a road accident in Shikarpur on late Wednesday night.
According to details, the road mishap occurred at the National Highway in the Laki Ghulam Shah area of Shikarpur, where an over-speeding trailer hit a motorcycle, as a result, two persons, including a police personnel, died on the spot.
After getting information, rescue teams reached the spot and moved the dead bodies to Laki Ghulam Shah hospital.
As per rescue sources, the deceased were identified as Nizam Din Qureshi and Didar Shah.
The driver of the trailer has managed to flee from the scene after the incident, sources added.
According to details, the road crash took place on Thari Mirwah Mehran Highway where an over-speeding van hit a motorcycle, killing six people including five students while a motorcycle they were riding on was completely damaged in a collision between two vechicles while the van was also damaged.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Imtiaz Murri, Barsat Ali, Ali Jan, Zafar Ali and Muzaffar Murri.
The accident happened when they were going to school, police added. Dead bodies were moved to hospital for further medico-legal formalities.
The heirs of the deceased and citizens staged a protest on the National Highway, causing traffic jam and severely affecting the movement of vehicles. (04)
