JAMSHORO: 07, SEPTEMBER, 2021: (Ali Murad Chandio): The University of Sindh Jamshoro celebrated Defence Day of Pakistan with reverence and effervescent spirit. The day was observed to commemorate supreme sacrifices of Armed Forces, Shuhada, Ghazis and national heroes who stood against the enemy with unparalleled display of unity and tenacity during 1965 Indo-Pak War.
In this regard, the Bureau of STAGS, University of Sindh Jamshoro took out a mammoth rally from Arts Faculty that marched to Central Library and turned into a procession there. Director Bureau of STAGS Dr Ghazala Panhwar, Director Pakistan Study Center Dr Shuja Ahmed Mahesar and others led the rally.
In his message at the junture, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro paid homage to the Shuhada and Ghazis who remained undeterred by the size of the enemy and foiled its nefarious designs with grit, courage and honour.
"On this day, nation acknowledges sacrifices of its gallant and resilient soldiers, sailors and airmen who defended the ideological and geographical frontiers of their motherland," the Vice Chancellor said and added that the day being a symbol of courage, resolve, sacrifice and national integrity demanded a pledge to work selflessly and to adhere resolutely to the Quaid's great principles by anchoring strong faith in Allah Almighty.
Those who participated in the rally offered special prayers for preservation of integrity and sovereignty of Pakistan. Dr Ghazala Panhwar, Dr Shuja Ahmed Mahesar and others also spoke on the occasion. (04)
