Security forces thwart major terror bid in Lahore, kill suicide bomber

LAHORE: 24, NOVEMBER, 2020: Security forces on Tuesday morning have thwarted a major terrorism bid by killing a suspected suicide bomber outside a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station at Lahore’s Barki Road.
According to Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), the assailants opened fire on the security forces at the police station at Lahor's Barki Road after being called to identify himself, however, he was killed in retaliation by security officials.
A suicide vest, two hand grenades and weapon were also recovered from his possession, sources said.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and started a search operation, while the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has also reached at the scene.
The CTD officials informed that, the alleged terrorist wanted to carry out a suicide attack on the police station, however, timely action by the security officials foiled his plan. (04)
