Shab e Barat observed with religious fervor

LAHORE: 19, MARCH, 2022: Shab-e-Barat, the night of reverence, fervour and divine blessings for Muslims was observed with religious spirit across the country on the night falling between Friday and Saturday.
Shab-e-Barat is observed by Muslims on the night between 14 and 15 Shaa’ban. The faithful offered nawafil in mosques, making special prayers for unity, prosperity, security and restoration of peace in the country and the prosperity and unity of entire Muslim Ummah.
Faithful gathered at mosques houses after Isha to offer special prayers that continued till Fajr. Besides, large number of believers, including women and children visited graveyards to pray for the departed souls of their loved ones. They lighted candles and scent sticks on the graves and sought Allah’s blessings for departed souls.
Special prayers were offered for eradication of coronavirus from the country and welfare of the motherland. Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the true teachings of Islam while different gatherings and Mahafil-e-Naat were arranged to mark the holy night.
The houses, streets and especially mosques were decorated with colourful pennants and buntings.
Security measures were tightened to protect the worshippers. (04)
