Sialkot incident: Preliminary report sent to PM Imran, CM Buzdar

LAHORE: 04, DECEMBER, 2021: A preliminary report on Sialkot incident pertaining to the killing of Sri Lankan manager Priyantha Kumara, has been forwarded by the concerned authorities to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Saturday.
According to the initial report, the incident was reported to the police at 11:26 am.
It stated that "a sticker regarding religion was placed on a machine in factory which, the manager ordered workers to remove in the wake of foreigners' visit." Allegedly, they didn't act on the order on account of which, the manager came forward and remove it by himself, the report said.
The factory owners and administration fled the scene after lynching the Sri Lankan manager, the report reads.
On the other side, the postmortem report of Sri Lankan manager showed that most of his body was burnt while his bones were also broken owing to torture.
Earlier today, security personnel on Saturday have apprehended second prime suspect who incited the mob to torture Sri Lankan manager Priyantha Kumara to death in Sialkot over alleged blasphemy.
According to details, suspect Talha has been moved to some unknown place for interrogation.
Police have arrested more than 100 people, so far with the help of CCTV for killing the manager.

The tragic incident took place at a factory located at Sialkot's Wazirabad Road, where a foreign factory manager was brutally tortured by the workers with sticks over alleged blasphemy.
Police were sent to the area to bring the situation under control.
"After successful talks with the angry group of protesters, traffic was resumed on the road," the police official said.
On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan termed the burning alive of a Sri Lankan manager at a Sialkot factory by a mob as a shameful day for Pakistan and announced that he was personally overseeing the probe.
"The horrific vigilante attack on factory in Sialkot & the burning alive of Sri Lankan manager is a day of shame for Pakistan. I am overseeing the investigations & let there be no mistake all those responsible will be punished with full severity of the law. Arrests are in progress." (04)
