Sindh govt to establish food street at Boat Basin

KARACHI: 21, AUGUST, 2021: The Sindh government has decided to establish a food street in Boat Basin area of Karachi’s Clifton.

City's Administrator Murtaza Wahab visited Boat Basin along with the Sindh CM's Special Aide Waqar Mehdi, PPP leaders Karamullah Waqasi and Najami Alam, and the project director of the Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Programme and other officials. 

On the occasion, Wahab reviewed the ongoing development works at Boat Basin while he was apprised by KNIP project director about the food street and its execution.

In a tweet, Murtaza Wahab said that "Visited the area around boat basin along with Waqar Mehdi, Karamullah Waqasi & KNIP officials to oversee the development plan of #SindhGovt to develop a food street, pedestrian trail & a piazza in the area." 

He issued directives to renovate the area and start the construction work. A walking track and more facilities would be built too at the location. 

He further wrote that "Sindh government has started the renovation of the area beside the construction of the food street that will also have a walking track and other facilities." (04)
