Sindh imposes more restrictions across province as COVID-19 cases rise

KARACHI: 24, NOVEMBER, 2020: Sindh government on Tuesday has imposed more restrictions across the province after increase in coronavirus cases. According to Sindh's home ministry, the new timings of shops and other business centers will be from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
As per notification, all the commercial hubs will be shut on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ban on indoor marriages while only outdoor marriages allowed with upper limit of 200 persons till 09:00pm. Gym, cinemas, shrines will also be closed.
Corona cases in Sindh climbed to 164,651, the highest number so far in the country while the death toll rose to 2,845.
On the other hand, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has mounted to 379,883 on Tuesday after more infections were registered in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 2,954 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours while there are a total of 40,379 active cases of the coronavirus.
As per sources, tally in Punjab stood at 115,138, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 44,932, in Balochistan 16,846 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 27,555, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 4,558, while 6,203 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 7,744 deaths so far, after 48 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours. As per official data, Punjab recorded 2,879 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 1,330 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 95 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 163 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 285 deaths and AJK recorded 147 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 5,256,120 corona tests and 39,165 in last 24 hours and 331,760 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 146366 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 98034 in Punjab, 40422 in KP, 16061 in Balochistan, 21990 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 4303 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 4584 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,751 patients are in a critical condition across the country.
