Students need to explore various fields after graduation

Karachi: 12 Jnauary 2020: What I have observed recently is that everybody just want to be CSS/PMS officer and that's it. I mean no doubt we have population bulge, maximum of the youth is unemployed especially the university graduates and while their stay at their universities they feel very precarious because of the career opportunities, since it's all about economic stability at the end but for God's sake try to be serious readers while you are at your university.
Try to explore different academic avenues, try to just search yourself what do you like reading except those books told by CSS/PMS gurus. Even CSS/PMS gurus themselves are mostly very mediocre and are not serious readers at all. Reading 2-3 famous books about Pakistan, rotting some information or data will not widen your horizon. It is very unfortunate that the new students (mostly-not all of them) do not even have any opinion about their surroundings, they neither read literature not any other book which can actually inspire. Their inspirations are usually more or less the same.
I mean imagine how so many individuals having such a diverse background can have unanimity in inspirations? That actually depicts that students are borrowing inspirations, they don't have any inspiration at all in their personal lives. Their views about religion, politics, social norms, women rights, idea of an egalitarian society, etc. are either static or there is no difference between their views and person who has never been into any institutions ever.
Yes, it is the job of the state and universities to give such an environment where students can grow their academic and cognitive abilities and can explore different shades of life i.e. anger, hate, love, romance, passion etc. and can channel these experiences in a healthy way but unfortunately, our state and consequently universities are unable to perform that role.
So, in such an unfortunate situation, students will have to push themselves on their own and even with more zeal and vigor. Lastly, I do agree it is very important to have a job, a career ahead but it's equally important to be learned person to be a human and not a robot. So, at least while you are at a university for God's sake try to cherish that time
