TLP protest: Lahore s entry and exit points sealed

LAHORE: 23, OCTOBER, 2021: The exit and entry points of Lahore have been sealed on account of the ongoing protest of banned outfit Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) on Saturday.
According to details, the points include Babu Sabu Interchange, Shahdara Chowk, Saggian Bridge, Old Ravi Bridge, Data Darbar and Ring Road have been blocked to avert any untoward mishap.
Moreover, the internet service is being suspended in these areas as interior ministry approved its suspension on the request of Punjab Home Department.
The development came after three police personnel martyred and multiple others were wounded in clashes with workers of the proscribed TLP in Lahore yesterday.
On the other hand, Lahore CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogran warned that they would not allow anyone to take the law into their own hands.
Lahore DIG (Operation) Spokesperson Mazhar Hussain said in a statement, that the two of the deceased officials were identified as Ayub and Khalid.
The identity of the third official has not yet been ascertained, but a statement from the provincial chief minister stated that three policemen were martyred.
Hussain said that several others were also injured and taken to the hospital in critical condition. He said "Protesters also hurled petrol bombs on officials," adding that "The angry mob also used sticks and pelted stones."
It is to be noted that, many roads in the twin cities have also been sealed with containers by the authorities ahead of the banned outfit's protest.
