TLP protest: PM Imran summons NSC meeting today

ISLAMABAD: 29, OCTOBER, 2021: In the wake of ongoing protests of the banned outfit in the country, the National Security Committee (NSC) will meet today (Friday). According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair the meeting of the NSC, to be held in the federal capital.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) and some other ministers will attend the session.
Important decisions are likely to be made during the meeting, sources said.
The NSC will be apprised by Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid and Federal Minister Noorul Haq about the current situation and the illegal activities of the banned outfit.
Other issues related to national security will also come discussion in the meeting.
The meeting will also finalize strategy to deal with the demonstrators of banned organization during the meeting.
In a tweet, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said that "Prime Minister Imran Khan has convened a meeting of the National Security Committee on Friday in view of the situation arising out of the illegal activities of the banned outfit." (04)
