Nottingham : 22 February 2022: The Human Waste Tunnel headed over this abandoned railway tunnel over in nottingham a couple weeks back, been meaning to visit here for a while and it didnt dissapoint. The tunnel sits at over 1000m long and along the way just before a major collapse is an air shaft that since its closure has had that much waste thrown down it,it now forms a huge pile extended up and above the air shaft itself,not sure why this exists but during the 60/70s local councils would thrown there waste/landfill down local mines to get rid of it but since then this has thankfully been prohibited. built for the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension of the Great Northern Railway. This line ran from Colwick Junction in Nottingham to Egginton Junction in South Derbyshire.
