Since its inception in 2014, when the app was originally known as Musically, it had quickly soared to become the fastest-growing social media app in the world.
Based on the 2020 Tiktok Statistics by Mediakix, this relatively new video-sharing app has over 2 billion downloads worldwide, outperforming other prominent platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Snapchat in terms of App Store and Google Play downloads.
