Umer Sharif s body to reach Karachi tomorrow

KARACHI: 05, OCTOBER, 2021: Renowned comedian Umer Sharif's body will reach Karachi Wednesday morning (October 06) from Germany. 

The body of the comedy king will be flown back home on board a Turkish airline's flight that will leave from Germany today (Tuesday) and arrive in the port city early Wednesday at 5:45am via Istanbul. 

All necessary arrangements have been made by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at the airport's cargo terminal in this regard. 

Upon arrival, the Sharif's body will transferred to a mortuary. He will be laid to rest at the Abdullah Shah Gazi graveyard. 

On October 2, Comedy King Umer Sharif passed away at the age of 66 years after prolonged illness. He was set to fly to United States (US) today for medical treatment three days after his stay in Germany.

Umer Sharif was admitted to Germany's hospital on September 29 after suffering fever owing to fatigue during flight to the United States. 

Earlier, the departure of comedian for treatment abroad was postponed owing to his critical condition. He was shifted to critical care unit (CCU) and was kept under observation for 48 hours. (04)
