SAN FRANCISCO: 03, DECEMBER, 2021: The popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has lately released an update that allows users to use WhatsApp messenger on any device without using smartphone.
Let users use the WhatsApp on desktops and laptops.
It shared the tutorial video explains how to use WhatsApp web without linking to smartphone.
Last month, WhatsApp had introduced multiple updates for its web and mobile phone versions.
WhatsApp announced on Twitter that "with the new updates, users will be able to add stickers and text or crop and rotate their photos from any WhatsApp screen, whether it’s a smaller or big one."
The website added that "the new interface implements a control bar: it allows moving the picture-in-picture view easily, and it also implements some shortcuts, like the possibility to end the video and to show it in full-screen mode."
Earlier, on October 30, WhatsApp unveiled its plans to include Novi Payments, a no-fee digital wallet that lets users to send and receive money securely and instantly, in the app.
As per the WABetainfo report, the company has started a small pilot test of the integration of the Novi wallet in the instant messaging app.
The digital wallet will let users add their bank account or link a card, withdraw money into the bank account, and see their transactions and balance.
In a tweet, David Marcus, the co-creator and a board member of Diem and the head of Facebook Financial, "Remittances are a critical way to achieve financial inclusion. Today, we’re rolling out a small pilot of the Novi digital wallet app in two countries — the US and Guatemala. People can send and receive money instantly, securely, and with no fees."
Earlier, WhatsApp had warned millions of iPhone and Android phone users to update their software or else they will be unable to use the app.
As many as 53 smartphone models affected by the new update starting November 1.
The report said the messaging app will not be supported on both iPhone and Android models, therefore, affected users will either have to buy a new phone or update the software of their smartphones.
