ISLAMABAD: 27, OCTOBER, 2021: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Wednesday has said that Pakistan now has lowest positivity ratio since the authorities started measuring coronavirus.
In a post on social-networking website Twitter, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) head posted, "Alhamdulillah we now have lowest positivity ratio since we started measuring covid. Also have lowest patients on critical care & lowest daily mortality in a year."
"Positive impact of vaccination showing but vaccination drive must continue."
"Globally 7,500 died of covid yesterday, he added.
It is to be noted that, coronavirus infections tally in the country has climbed to 1,270,322 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 516 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.34 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 468,401 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 439,450, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 177,646, in Balochistan 33,211 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,777, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,387 while 34,450 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,405 deaths so far, after 13 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,902 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,555 in Sindh, 5,729 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 355 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 938 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,610,681, corona tests and 38,430 in last 24 hours and 1,217,935 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 447,981 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 418,470 in Punjab, 169,466 in KP, 32,756 in Balochistan, 105,489 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,147 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,626 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,487 patients are in critical condition.
