American citizen paid $181,000 to hunt Markhor, the national animal of Pakistan

Gilgit Baltistan: 23 March 2024: In Gilgit, an American citizen named Brian Douglas Williams hunted the highest-rated Astore markhor in the Doyan Community Controlled Hunting Area (CCHA) on Friday. The markhor had 40-inch horns. Williams paid $181,000 for the hunting permit to the GB Wildlife Department.

This hunt was the fourth highest-rated Astore markhor hunt in the current trophy hunting programme. Previously, on Feb 13, another American citizen named Colglazier John Michael hunted an Astore markhor in the Sai Damote CCHA in Gilgit after paying $171,000.

On January 27, Joseph Bradford Coors, also from the US, hunted the highest-rated Astore markhor in the SKB community control hunting area in Roundu area of Skardu after paying $186,000 to the GBWD.
