In a landmark act in the nation's judicial history, the newly appointed Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Qazi Faez Isa, took the oath of office on Sunday with his wife, Sarina Isa, by his side.
The CJP's wife remained by him during the ceremony as he took an oath to protect the law, uphold the Constitution of Pakistan, and ensure justice while serving as the nation's top court till October 25, 2024.
It is important to remember that on June 19, 2020, the Supreme Court struck down a presidential reference that had been made against Justice Isa.
