Coronavirus infects 319 people in Pakistan, kills seven in 24 hours


ISLAMABAD: 20, NOVEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has climbed to 1,281,559 on Saturday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 319 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.81 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 473,918 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 442,353, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 179,473, in Balochistan 33,432 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 107,447, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,406 while 34,530 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,655 deaths so far, after seven fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,994 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,611 in Sindh, 5,814 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 358 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 951 deaths and AJK recorded 741 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 21,604,940, corona tests and 39,200 in last 24 hours and 1,230,425 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 452,750 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 422,186 in Punjab, 172,359 in KP, 32,990 in Balochistan, 106,192 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,198 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,750 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,077 patients are in critical condition.
