Coronavirus infects 462 people in Pakistan, kills two

ISLAMABAD: 14, MARCH, 2022: Covid-19 cases tally in the country has surged 1,519,154 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 462 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.7 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 572,042 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 503,844, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 218,180 in Balochistan 35,438 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,837, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,636 while 43,177 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,309 deaths so far, after two deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,538 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,091 in Sindh, 6,301 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 377 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,021 deaths and AJK recorded 790 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,929,016 corona tests and 31,201 in last 24 hours and 1,470,822 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 551,796 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 487,142 in Punjab, 209,788 in KP, 35,004 in Balochistan, 133,500 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,306 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,286 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 577 patients are in critical condition.
