Coronavirus infects 953 more people in Pakistan, kills 11 in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 04, MARCH, 2022: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has mounted to 1,512,707 on Friday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 953 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.59 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 569,338 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 502,246, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 216,614, in Balochistan 35,361 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,519, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,543 while 43,068 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,248 deaths so far, after 11 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,513 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,083 in Sindh, 6,283 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 376 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,014 deaths and AJK recorded 788 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,570,773 corona tests and 36,678 in last 24 hours and 1,451,665 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 538,825 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 484,722 in Punjab, 206,971 in KP, 34,931 in Balochistan, 133,008 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,219 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 41,989 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 890 patients are in critical condition.
