Coronavirus kills 41 more people in Pakistan, infects 1,400 in a day


ISLAMABAD: 28, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 1,241,825 on Monday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,400 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 3.17 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 456,343 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 429,655, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 173,353 in Balochistan 32,875 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,217, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,308 while 34,074 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,638 deaths so far, after 41 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,575 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,361 in Sindh, 5,514 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 184 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 348 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 919 deaths and AJK recorded 737 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,284,635, corona tests and 44,116 in last 24 hours and 1,164,219 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 426,293 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 398,215 in Punjab, 162,810 in KP, 32,345 in Balochistan, 102,019 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,931 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 32,606 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 4,015 patients are in critical condition across the country.
