Coronavirus takes nine more lives in Pakistan, 414 cases recorded


ISLAMABAD: 01, DECEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has surged 1,285,254 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 414 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.97 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 475,820 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 443,185, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 180,075, in Balochistan 33,484 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 107,722, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,412 while 34,556 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,737 deaths so far, after nine fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,027 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,621 in Sindh, 5,846 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 360 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 955 deaths and AJK recorded 742 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 22,028,156, corona tests and 42,381 in last 24 hours and 1,242,354 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 460,357 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 424,941 in Punjab, 173,495 in KP, 33,071 in Balochistan, 106,488 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,219 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,783 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 896 patients are in critical condition.
