Country will be facing worst-ever gas shortfall from next month: Sherry Rehman


ISLAMABAD: 19, NOVEMBER, 2021: Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Vice President and Senator Sherry Rehman on Friday said that winters haven't arrived yet and gas load shedding started already, adding that the country is facing the worst gas shortage even after the prices increased.
In a tweet, Sherry Rehman wrote that News today that Pakistan will be facing the worst-ever gas shortfall of 717-961mmcfd from Dec-Jan. This along with a 350% surge in gas prices has made life impossible for Pakistanis. Had the LNG cargoes been arranged on time, this massive gas crisis could have been avoided. NAB?
She said gas prices in new Pakistan will increase 3 times a day like the prices of medicines.
Rehman said that even after taking 16 notices they (government) could not reduce inflation. The biggest problem people are facing is inflation and unemployment, not Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), she added.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Union Vice President and Senator Sherry Rehman said that after gas and sugar, the nation should now be ready for flour crisis.
In a tweet, the PPP Senator wrote that now people will have no gas in winter, no flour to cook, and they are being punished for the inefficiency of this government.
The govt has already been warned by the Punjab Flour Mills Association regarding flour crisis, she added.
She asked the government, "Will you blame the opposition for the flour crisis now?"
Sherry Rehman further said that "While the country struggles with a crippling gas deficit, this winter the last staple left to eat is also under threat: roti. The Punjab Flour Mills Association is protesting at the new purchasing crisis to profit only mafias. A bag of 20 kilos of Aata has already gone up by Rs 80!" (04)
