Covid-19: Pakistan sees significant drop in deaths, reports six fatalities in a day


ISLAMABAD: 26, OCTOBER, 2021: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has jumped to 1,269,806 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database 572 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.35 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 468,164 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 439,307, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 177,553, in Balochistan 33,204 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 106,749, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,386 while 34,443 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,392 deaths so far, after six fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,898 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,551 in Sindh, 5,724 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 355 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 938 deaths and AJK recorded 740 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 20,572,249, corona tests and 42,096 in last 24 hours and 1,217,218 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 447,748 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 418,234 in Punjab, 169,278 in KP, 32,748 in Balochistan, 105,444 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,147 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,619 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 1,028 patients are in critical condition.
