ISLAMABAD: 05, MARCH, 2022: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has surged 1,513,503 on Saturday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 796 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.10 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 569,637 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 502,455, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 216,812, in Balochistan 35,363 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,583, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,559 while 43,094 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,258 deaths so far, after 10 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,518 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,083 in Sindh, 6,286 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 376 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,016 deaths and AJK recorded 788 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,608,558 corona tests and 34,296 in last 24 hours and 1,453,496 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 538,974 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 485,103 in Punjab, 208,201 in KP, 34,936 in Balochistan, 133,025 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,223 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,034 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 842 patients are in critical condition.
