CTD arrests terrorist in Chaman

CHAMAN: 16, SEPTEMBER, 2021: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday has arrested a terrorist of banned outfit during an intelligence-based operation in Chaman.

According to CTD spokesperson, an operation was carried out near Pak-Afghan border in Chaman during which an alleged terrorist belonging to a banned organization was apprehended. 

Arms and explosive material were also confiscated from the possession of arrested terrorist, the CTD spokesperson said, adding that, "The arrested terrorist of banned outfit, whose identity has not been disclosed, was wanted in several cases of terrorism." 

Earlier, on September 10, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to have arrested three terrorists of a banned outfit during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lahore.

According to details, CTD conducted an operation in Ideal Park area of Township in Lahore during which three terrorists arrested. 

CTD spokesperson said, the arrested terrorists were identified as Junaid Zia, Muhammad Waqas and Muhammad Jawad.

Hand grenades, explosive material and other arms were also recovered from their possession, he added.

The spokesperson further said the arrested terrorists were planning to target law enforcement agencies and sensitive installations. (04)
