Global covid-19 infections pass 272 million, deaths touch 5,345,727


WASHINGTON: 16, DECEMBER, 2021: The Covid-19 cases worldwide passed 272 million (272,487,765) according to John Hopkins and AFP tally while the deadly virus claimed 5,345,727 lives worldwide so far and 244,805,285 patients have been recuperated.
Here the actual figure of coronavirus cases and deaths of top 15 affected countries:
The number of people infected with corona in the US, the world's hardest-hit country has risen to 51,290,979 and the total number of deaths has reached 823,390.
India, the second hardest-hit country reported 34,718,669 cases with 476,478 deaths.
Brazil is the third worst-hit country by the coronavirus, with 22,201,221 patients and 617,348 deaths.
In UK, the virus infections reached 11,010,286 and death toll rose to 146,791.
In Russia, 10,103,160 people have been infected by Corona while the total death toll rose to 292,891.
Turkey reported 9,100,324 cases so far while death toll jumped to 79,696.
The coronavirus has infected 8,399,846 people in France and left 120,983 dead.
Germany registered 6,656,161 patients with 107,675 deaths.
The number of people infected with the coronavirus in Iran has jumped to 6,162,954 and 130,883 have been died.
Number of cases in Spain has climbed to 5,393,268 with 88,619 deaths.
Argentina recorded 5,371,341 COVID-19 cases with 116,857 fatalities so far.
The total figure of fatalities due to coronavirus reached 135,178 in Italy while 5,282,076 infections recorded.
The number of cases in Colombia surged 5,099,746 and death toll crossed 129,256.
The death toll from Coronavirus in Indonesia has risen nearly 143,969 with 4,259,644 people affected. (04)
