ISLAMABAD: 12.05.2025: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan displayed maximum restraint despite baseless accusations and aggression following the Pahalgam incident.

In his recent interview, Khawaja Asif emphasized that Pakistan’s response was marked by measured decision-making, not impulsive actions, reflecting the country’s commitment to regional stability and responsible statecraft.

Regarding India’s attempt to suspend provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty, Asif firmly rejected the move, saying the treaty contains no provision allowing for its suspension. "There is no question of suspension; the treaty does not allow it," he added.

Asif also praised Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly the Pakistan Air Force, for their outstanding performance during recent tensions, noting that international media had recognized their superiority and professionalism.

He highlighted that future talks between the two nations will address critical issues, including the Indus Waters Treaty, terrorism, and the Kashmir dispute.
