Peshawar: 31 March 20224: 10 dead, 12 wounded in two days as rain pounds KP, Ten individuals lost their lives while 12 were injured in rain-related events in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past two days, as per the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Sunday.

Since Friday, the province has been experiencing heavy rain. Late on Saturday night, heavy rainfall accompanied by hailstorms struck parts of the province, resulting in the deaths of livestock, including those in a cattle pen in Upper Kohistan's Harban area, and causing damage to several houses.

PDMA spokesperson Anwar Shahzad confirmed the casualties today, revealing that the deceased included eight children and two women, while the injured comprised nine children, two women, and a man.

The spokesperson further mentioned that according to reports received until Saturday night, 27 houses were damaged in rain and hailstorm-related incidents in KP. He stated that relief operations were underway in the affected areas.

A concise report issued by the PDMA at 11:30 pm on Saturday night, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, indicated that the casualties occurred in various roof and house collapse incidents in Shangla, Bannu, Bajaur, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Mansehra.
