Lahore: Fire at Shopping plaza extinguished

LAHORE: 14, MARCH, 2022: Massive fire that erupted in a shopping plaza in Gulberg area of Lahore which engulfed multiple shops has been extinguished after hectic effort of seven hours.
The cooling process is currently underway.
On receiving information about the incident, about 20 vehicles and 60 rescue workers reached the spot and commenced rescue operation.
As per sources, security in-charge of the plaza was also apprehended from the scene for creating hurdles in the operation.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and ordered inquiry to determine the cause of blaze.
Earlier, on January 18, the fire broke out in an iron store located in the Saddar Bazaar area of Sahiwal which spread rapidly and engulfed three nearby shops and four houses.
After getting information, fire brigade and rescue teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic effort of several hours.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, sources said.
Rescue sources, no human loss or injuries was reported in the incident. (04)
