NDMA issues downpour, snowfall alert


ISLAMABAD: 20, JANUARY, 2022: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday has issued alert over fresh rain and snowfall forecast for the country.
The NDMA has advised Provincial and District Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) to stay vigilant and take precautionary measures during the forecast period to tackle any emergency situation and avoid any loss of life or property during any calamity.
NDMA has issued a press release following Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) weather advisory for more rains and snowfall.
A spokesperson of NDMA said that "Required machinery, emergency equipment and personnel should be deployed at vulnerable spots."
Concerned agencies should provide information to travelers and tourists about weather conditions, spokesperson added.
It is pertinent to mention here that, a day earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had forecast entry of another weather system in the country that will bring rain and snowfall in upper and central parts of the country from Friday. (04)
