ISLAMABAD: 08, MARCH, 2022: Coronavirus cases tally in the country has climbed to 1,515,392 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 378 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.29 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 570,353 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 502,968, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 217,304, in Balochistan 35,398 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,662, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,582 while 43,125 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,281 deaths so far, after 9 deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,530 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,085 in Sindh, 6,291 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 377 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,019 deaths and AJK recorded 788 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,712,953 corona tests and 29,216 in last 24 hours and 1,455,765 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 539,597 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 485,989 in Punjab, 208,621 in KP, 34,961 in Balochistan, 133,262 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,223 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,112 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 778 patients are in critical condition.
