Pakistan registers 493 covid cases with four deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: 16, MARCH, 2022: Covid-19 cases tally in the country has mounted 1,520,120 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 493 persons infected with the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 1.42 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 572,555 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 504,045, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 218,357, in Balochistan 35,447 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 134,878, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 11,648 while 43,190 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 30,317 deaths so far, after four deaths were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,540 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 8,091 in Sindh, 6,306 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 378 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 1,021 deaths and AJK recorded 790 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 26,998,115 corona tests and 34,698 in last 24 hours and 1,472,291 patients have been recovered.
Reportedly, 552,198 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 487,416 in Punjab, 210,392 in KP, 35,027 in Balochistan, 133,563 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 11,362 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 42,333 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan while 567 patients are in critical condition.
