Pakistan reports 2,580 coronavirus cases with 78 fatalities in 24 hours


ISLAMABAD: 14, SEPTEMBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 1,210,082 on Tuesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 2,580 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 5.44 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 446,045 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 415,654, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 169,040 in Balochistan 32,618 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 103,125, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,168 while 33,432 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 26,865 deaths so far, after 78 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,259 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,177 in Sindh, 5,290 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 182 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 344 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 889 deaths and AJK recorded 724 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 18,568,658, corona tests and 47,419 in last 24 hours and 1,097,416 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 393,393 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 377,082 in Punjab, 155,751 in KP, 31,954 in Balochistan, 98,388 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 9,684 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 31,164 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 5,304 patients are in critical condition across the country.
