RAWALPINDI: 12.05.2025: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, made it clear that any threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty or violation of its territorial integrity will be met with a strong, retributive, and decisive response. He emphasized that no one should doubt Pakistan’s readiness to defend its national interests with full force.
At a press conference alongside Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Director General Public Relations Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed and Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Pakistan Army’s chief spokesperson, detailed the operation’s success.
He said that Pakistan’s armed forces launched Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, targeting 26 Indian military sites to re-establish deterrence following India’s violation of Pakistan’s airspace and airbase strikes earlier this week.
He stated that the aggression began on the night of May 6-7, causing civilian casualties, including women, children, and the elderly. A Pakistani aircraft was also slightly damaged in the missile attack from India.
Gen Chaudhry confirmed that 26 military targets across both Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and mainland India were struck, including air bases and facilities associated with terrorism activities. The attack successfully disabled Brahmos missile sites responsible for previous strikes against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s response was described as a "textbook demonstration" of tri-service integration, with real-time situational awareness, network-centric warfare, and seamless multi-domain operations. Key targets included major airbases at Suratgarh, Sirsa, Adampur, and others, all of which sustained significant damage.
Gen Chaudhry also paid tribute to those martyred, offering gratitude to the armed forces for their bravery and sacrifices. He particularly praised the youth of Pakistan, who served as the country’s front-line information and cyber warriors, and thanked the media for its unwavering support.
Regarding ceasefire discussions, the spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan had never requested a ceasefire, reiterating that war between nuclear-armed nations must be avoided at all costs. He concluded by commending Pakistan’s mature and controlled response, ensuring both escalation control and continued counterterrorism operations.
