Washington: 20 November 2021: President Joe Biden has transferred power to Vice President Kamala Harris while he is under anesthesia for a routine colonoscopy. This means that for the next several hours, Harris will take on all of the powers and duties of her boss' job, becoming the first woman with presidential power in U.S. history.
Press secretary Jen Psaki says that Harris will work from her office in the West Wing. She mentioned the same situations occurring in '02 and '07, while President George W. Bush was under treatment for two colonoscopies.
Colonoscopies detect and prevent colorectal cancer and other diseases of the lower intestinal tract. Details of Biden's health will be released later this Friday afternoon, according to the White House.
