Remembering renowned poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz on his 37th death anniversary

LAHORE: 20, NOVEMBER, 2021: The 37th death anniversary of influential intellectual and revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz is being observed today (Saturday).
He was born on February 13, 1911. His work remains influential in Pakistan literature and arts.
Faiz was awarded Pakistan's highest civil award Nishan-e-Imtiaz in 1990 in recognition of his services in literature.
Faiz was the first Asian poet to receive the Lenin Peace Prize, awarded by the Soviet Union in 1962.
In 1976 he was awarded the Lotus Prize for Literature.
His poetry has been translated into several languages including Russian and English. His collections of work include Naqsh-e-faryadi, Dast-e-saba, Zindaan Naama and Sham-e-Sheher-e-Yaaran.
He passed away in Lahore, November 20, in 1984. (04)
