Sajid Mir’s demise: ECP sets May 29 for Senate election

ISLAMABAD: 13.05.2025: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that polling to fill the Senate seat vacated after the death of Senator Sajid Mir will be held on May 29.
As per the schedule released by the ECP, the polling will take place in the Punjab Assembly. Nomination papers can be submitted from May 14 to 15, with scrutiny of documents set for May 17.
The seat became vacant after the demise of Senator Sajid Mir, a well-known political figure from Punjab.
