HYDERABAD: 02.10.2025: The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) raided several eateries in Hyderabad and shut down an ice cream and limca shop in Latifabad Unit 7 for serious hygiene breaches, imposing a Rs 100,000 fine. The officials found expired ice creams and unsafe ice used in drinks.
Deputy Director Dr. Asad Jahangir said that surprise inspections are ongoing across restaurants, sweet shops, hotels, and food stalls in response to public complaints. In a mall food court on Autobahn Road, multiple restaurants were also penalized for violating sanitation standards.
The crackdown followed a recent SFA raid in Karachi on a five-star hotel chain, where expired meat and unhygienic practices were uncovered.
