SU VC gives away Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarship cheques to 272 students as second installment

JAMSORO: 26, NOVEMBER, 2021: (Report by: Ali Murad Chandio): The cheques of second installment of Ehsas Undergraduate Scholarships have been given to 272 students of Sindh University Jamshoro on Thursday.
In this regard, a ceremony was organized by the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) of the University of Sindh at the Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of the Arts Faculty Building, in which SU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro gave away the cheques for the second installment of the scholarship to 272 students of 2017 batch.
Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Zareen Abbasi, Dr. Arfana Begum Mallah, Dr. Naik Muhammad Shaikh, Director Students Financial Aid Office Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Jariko, Qamar Nangraj, Muhammad Rafi Memon, Director Students Welfare Dr. Muhammad Younis Leghari, Director Security Kashif Narejo, Student Welfare Officer Allah Wadhayo Sehito, Director STAGS Dr. Ghazala Panhwar, Zareen Memon and many other teachers and students were present on the occasion.
Speaking the ceremony, SU Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro said that if there was a slight increase in admission fees after years, the unrelated people sitting outside the varsity made a noise but hardworking children who were getting scholarships did not make such noise and focused on their education.
He said that the provision of scholarships for poor but meritorious students by the federal and provincial governments was a commendable process.
"We have convinced and approached the senior officials of both the governments that poor and middle class children are studying in Sindh University who are in need of scholarships, therefore, more slots may be given for SU students," he said.
He said that getting scholarship was not an achievement for the students but it was an opportunity, their succuss will only be counted when they will get good marks in university and grab jobs in the national job market.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that youth should be sincere with themselves, love their homeland-Pakistan, respect elders and teachers.
He said that after conducting interviews of students applying for Ehaas Undergraduate Scholarship by an impartial committee, the students were selected for the scholarship on the basis of merit, not a single student was given a favor during the process.
Earlier, Director Students Financial Aid Office Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Jariko while addressing the ceremony informed about the scholarship opportunities and details of the students who received the scholarship so far. (04)
