Voting underway for PP-206 Khanewal by-election

KHANEWAL: 16, DECEMBER, 2021: Voting for by-election in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-206 Khanewal-IV commenced today (Thursday).
Polling was started at 8:00 am and will continue without any break till 5:00 pm.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established 185 polling stations for around 230,698 voters of the constituency.
As many as 13 candidates are in the run for the provincial assembly seat. However, a tough contest is expected between the PML-N’s Rana Muhammad Saleem, who had contested the 2018 general election on a PTI ticket, and the PTI’s Noreen Nishat Daha, the widow of former PMLN candidate and MPA Nishat Daha.
The police and Rangers personnel have been deployed in the constituency to main law and order and deter any untoward incident during polling.
The seat fell vacant after the death of disgruntled PML-N MPA Nishat Ahmed Khan Daha. (04)
