Why Eyes get Red when you are angry

news-details

Karachi: 8 November 2023: When a person becomes angry, their body undergoes a physiological response known as the "fight or flight" response. This is a natural reaction to stress or perceived threats, and it involves the release of stress hormones like adrenaline and noradrenaline.

One of the effects of this response is that it can cause changes in the body, including the eyes. The pupils may dilate, allowing more light to enter the eye and improving focus on the perceived threat. This can sometimes give the appearance of a change in eye color, as the dilation of the pupils can make the iris (the colored part of the eye) appear larger and more prominent.

Additionally, the increased blood flow and tension in the muscles around the eyes may also contribute to the perception of a change in eye color, as it can alter the way light is reflected off the surface of the eye.

It's important to note that while these physiological responses are common in moments of anger or stress, they can vary from person to person, and not everyone will experience the same changes in eye appearance. Additionally, these changes are temporary and will typically return to normal once the person's stress levels decrease.
