Hyderabad: 9 July 2023: Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman asked all government and non-government organisations to be "vigilant and ready" as heavy rains and thunderstorms are predicted across the country in the next 24 to 48 hours. Rains are expected to affect 0.9 million individuals, according to her estimates.

"The most rainfall will fall in Punjab cities such as Lahore, Narowal, and Sialkot." Other provinces have also been warned for heavy to moderate rain', Rehman said, adding that urban flooding warnings have been issued for cities and municipalities with landslip hazards.

The minister also emphasised the need of "coordinated preparedness and proactive responses" in saving lives and asked all response teams to be attentive.
