22 death toll, Balochistan Rain created Havoc

QUETTA: 28 April 2024:  On Saturday, Balochistan's capital and other regions were battered by intense rain, thunderstorms, and hailstones, resulting in the death toll rising to 22.The main streets and roads in the Quetta valley were inundated as a result of the day's intense rain, thunderstorms, and hailstones that fell in short bursts.

The flash floods destroyed many residences and severely obstructed transportation in several locations.

Parts of the Quetta-Taftan highway in the Noshki region were covered by floodwaters when a massive tanker transporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Iran flipped and plunged into a seasonal stream.

The driver lost control of the tanker as the flash flood forced it away from the main highway, leading it to veer into the stream. But the driver and other individuals.

Due to the fact that rain was falling in their catchment areas, the Bolan River, Nari Gaj-Mula River, and other seasonal rivers were carrying large amounts of floodwater.


In order to keep their homes warm and to dress warmly, residents of Ziarat, Quetta, Kalat, Kan Mehtarzai, Pishin, and several other northern Balochistani cities were forced to turn on their gas heaters.
